About Us

Vivian Romeu

I am a career educator with nearly 30 years of experience and a robust academic background, holding a Ph.D. in Social Communication along with advanced studies in fields including Mathematics, Statistics, Linguistic and Cognitive Psychology.

I dedicated over a decade to researching the intricate links between cognition, emotions, and subjectivity, and through this extensive work, recognized by Mexico’s National System of Researchers, identified the fertile ground for innovative educational techniques, which naturally culminated in the 2019 founding of Toroide Tutoring & Skills Prep, an avant-garde instructional venture.

Since relocating to Miami in 2022, I have focused on establishing and expanding this unique model. Guiding the Toroide project as Director General, I ensure our research-driven philosophy is realized in practice, personally leading integrated programs across core disciplines—including Mathematics, Languages, and Emotional Education—dedicated to fostering genuine student success.

Marisa Domínguez

The moment I encountered the Toroide project, I knew right away I had to be part of it. It was like dusting off my old teaching credentials and remembering my true vocation!

My background is a pretty unique mix: I was born in Havana and graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering back in 1994. But even with all that technical rigor, I’ve always had a huge passion for the humanities—things like literature, languages, Latin, and poetry.

After gaining some solid professional experience managing projects and administration in the commercial world, I made the big jump: I transitioned to education in 2001, earning my certification as an ESL teacher specializing in preschool. I haven’t looked back since!

Today, I’m thrilled to be a partner here at Toroide Tutoring and Skills Prep. I get to use that unique blend of technical smarts and pedagogical passion every day as I oversee and direct our fundamental Science-History and Elective programs.
